Using a blind-spot monitor on your vehicle

One of the biggest hazards of driving in Conneaut is the blind spot area in your mirrors and not being able to see another vehicle that might be right next to you. Failure to see someone in your blind spot can lead to an accident. Blind-spot monitors can help to remove this hazard, and we here at Greg Sweet Chevrolet Buick want you to understand what they are and how they work.

A blind-spot monitor is a system of sensors or cameras that are usually embedded in your side mirrors and/or in your rear bumper. When these sensors detect another vehicle or a large object, they will provide an in-vehicle alert to you so that you can avoid it.

Blind-spot monitors used to be a pricey add-on to luxury vehicles, but many newer cars and trucks now have them as standard options and the technology keeps expanding. Some blind-spot monitors even work to detect something you might be towing.
